Hi Friends, this is my second article in the Digital Deepak Intership program Batch 3.

In the first Article we have learnt about Basics of economics, Importance of communication, Niche Identification, Personal Branding and Sales funnel. In case you have missed it, you can read it here

The second class mainly focused on identifying the right customer avatar for the business. As customer is very important for any business knowing the customer is vital.

The class started with the Golden Triangle Learn>Do>Teach as it is the best way to remember and implement what we have learnt.

In the process of learning we do mistakes, you need not worry about mistakes as these are the stepping stones for your success

Mistakes are future benefits the value of which is yet to be realized!!

Next comes the main part i.e Marketing. Even I had a different opinion on marketing before, but actually marketing is about conversations and building relationships with customers.

One to One conversation is very important for gaining customer trust.

  1. Be authentic in communication : people are fed up with fake people who just showoff to build social persona

Authentic People get attracted to other authentic people

2. Be a better marketer: People with more life experiences will become a better marketer. So go ahead and travel, have more friends, do new things of all the time.

Who is your Audience?

If everyone is your audience then no one is your audience

Define your target audience and build your customer avatar including demographics and psycho graphics.

  1. Keep your simple language
  2. Join mental conversations means start a conversation already in customer mind.

People are predictable in large numbers and it is very important to know in digital marketing.

You can communicate well only when you know who is your customer. The target audience can be known by interactions, calls and surveys.

Now the assignment for this class is Building a customer avatar by means of a survey .

Customer Avathar :

I have prepared a questionnaire to know who is my target audience. The link to my Survey is here. This survey is mainly intended to know who are ambitious and want to live life to the fullest without compromise, doing whatever it takes to enhance their lifestyle.

Understanding your customer avatar not only helps you find your probable customer but also helps you build better products and service.

Analyzing the responses i could identify my ideal customer which is as follows

  1. Age is 18–35 yrs
  2. From tier 1 and tier 2 cities
  3. Graduated
  4. Salary from 1.8 lac to 5 lac bracket
  5. Monthly savings of less than 10%
  6. Want to build an emergency fund
  7. Want to achieve Financial freedom, get good health and help others
  8. Have single income source
  9. Achieve dream life in 10 yrs
  10. Have a game plan for future
  11. Ready to get mentored

Over all it was a great experience to identify my probable customer

Conclusion:

  1. Golden Triangle: Learn >Do> Teach to succeed and improve
  2. If you cannot converse well 1:1, you cannot converse well 1: many
  3. More the personal experience, better the connection with the audience
  4. Define your audience by capturing their demographic and psychographic data
  5. The simplest way to figure out your customer avatar is to find the customer of your closest competitor and interact with them.
